FIFA accused dictator

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called world soccer's governing body as a "dictator" because banning headscarves so as to prevent the daughter of Iranian soccer team participated in the Olympic qualifier.

Ahmadinejad on Tuesday said it had asked the head of the country's sports department to follow up the case with FIFA.

Day Friday, June 3, 2011, FIFA canceled the 2012 Olympics qualifying match between Jordan and Iran because the Iranian government refused to give his daughter's team permission to play without wearing a headscarf. Loss of opportunity for Iran that automatically give the victory for Jordan to go ahead.

FIFA defends his decision on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, and said the Iranian officials "were given comprehensive information" about the ban before the match day Friday, June 3, 2011.

FIFA banned the veil in 2007 for security reasons. The Youth Olympic Games 2010, the Iranian team girls get around the ban by closing their hair with a specially designed cap.
