Step 1: Download backup tool like Astro File Manager from https://market.android.com/details?id=com.metago.astro.

Step 2: Sync everything include things you stored in SD card in case of formatte SD card to resolve problems.

Flash Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread Based CyanogenMod 7.1 ROM to HTC Evo Shift 4G - Installing a Custom Recovery Image

Step 1: To install the custom recovery image, you need fastboot on the computer.

Step 2. Download ClockworkMod Recovery (the latest version).

Step 3. Copy the custom recovery image to same folder as fastboot.

Step 5: Choose the option Wipe data/factory reset.

Step 6: Then choose the option to Wipe cache.

Choose Install zip from sdcard.

Choose the CyanogenMod update.zip.

Step 7: Once the installation has finished, choose +++++Go Back+++++ to get back to the main menu, and select the Reboot system now option. The HTC Evo Shift 4G should now boot into CyanogenMod.
